What is Invisalign?
Invisalign treatment consists of a series of clear aligners that are custom fabricated to fit you. The virtually invisible aligners are programmed using computer simulation to gradually move your teeth to the desired position. All patients are not good candidates for Invisalign treatment; Dr. Monica will discuss the treatment options with you at the consultation visit.

Advantages

•	The clear aligners are very inconspicuous, so that most patients can get their beautiful smiles without other people noticing that they are going through Orthodontic treatment.
•	Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment, plus brushing and flossing are no problem.
•	The aligners are comfortable, with no brackets to cause mouth abrasions during treatment.
•	The teeth actually move to new positions resulting in a more physiological and functionally stable correction, unlike veneers or crowns that require cutting down the teeth and adding an artificial cap/surface in the existing incorrect position.

How does it work?
You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position Dr. Monica has prescribed. You’ll visit Dr. Monica about once every 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. At the end of treatment, you will be given a retainer very similar to the aligners, so that you can maintain your teeth in their new positions and keep your beautiful smile.
