Dr. Monica Teredesai has been creating beautiful smiles since 2001, after specializing in Orthodontics at the prestigious Columbia University, where she currently serves as a clinical instructor. Her career as a dentist began years ago in India, where she went through five years of training at Nair Hospital Dental College, University of Mumbai. When she moved to the United States, she pursued her D.M.D. degree at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating at the top of her class with multiple honors and a GPA of 4.0. Orthodontics had always been the field that she had been drawn towards, and Columbia University was an ideal place to immerse into it. After completing her specialization in Orthodontics, she went into private practice
  
in Stamford, where she worked for over five years before starting Smile Art Orthodontics here in Wilton.

 

Dr. Monica’s philosophy has always been to treat each patient as an individual, creating a smile that is unique to them and their face. She places emphasis on patient communication and comfort so that the journey to a beautiful smile is a pleasant and enjoyable one. Her role as an educator keeps her up to date with the latest technological advances in the field. She has been on the faculty of Columbia University for over 5 years, as a clinical instructor for the Orthodontic residents. She attends continuing education courses throughout the year, to maintain a cutting-edge practice.

Dr. Monica is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and in 2002, she was awarded the Shepard Award of Distinction by the American Board of Orthodontics for achieving the highest score on the board certification examination. She is a member of a number of Orthodontic societies, including the American Association of Orthodontists. She has been an active member on the board of the Columbia Orthodontic Alumni Society since her graduation from the program in 2001.

  

Dr. Monica lives locally in New Canaan with her husband and two children. When she is not busy creating beautiful smiles, she enjoys traveling, music, reading, watching TV and most of all, relaxing and spending time with her family.
